Discovering potential hearing loss can feel overwhelming, but taking action is the first step toward better hearing health. If you’ve noticed yourself asking people to repeat themselves, struggling to follow conversations in noisy environments or turning up the TV volume more than usual, these could be signs that it’s time for a professional evaluation. The good news is that modern hearing assessments are quick, painless and can provide clear answers about your hearing health.
Evear Hearing makes this process simple with our convenient testing process that takes less than an hour of your time. The comprehensive hearing aid evaluation will help determine if hearing aids could improve your quality of life, and if so, what options would work best for your specific needs and lifestyle.
How Hearing Aid Evaluations Work
We’ll ask you to provide some general health details at the start of your appointment. This helps us gain a better understanding of what may be causing any hearing loss we find.
Armed with that information, we’ll lead you through a few tests. These are non-invasive and very straightforward. You’ll only need to listen for sounds and let us know when you hear them. Your hearing specialist will take that information and use it to identify the severity of your hearing loss – if you have any.
We also offer special hearing aid evaluations for patients who can’t participate in the testing process. This is perfect for children and adults with cognitive issues who may need hearing support. Let us know if you’re interested in these services and we can tell you more.
Your Hearing Test Results
We should complete the testing portion of your evaluation within about 45 minutes. Afterward, you’ll sit down with your hearing specialist to discuss their findings. They’ll tell you whether you have hearing loss and, if so, how to address it.
For example, we might recommend a hearing aid from a specific manufacturer. Or we could introduce you to a few options. Bringing a family member or close friend to your appointment can be helpful. They can remind you to ask all of your important questions and help you understand the specialist’s recommendations. But we’re also always available to answer questions if you come on your own.
Personalised Care Saves Time and Money
Hearing aid evaluations are important because they give us insight into the unique aspects of your hearing loss. This can impact the sort of care we recommend in more than one way.
For example, we might find that you have severe hearing loss instead of a milder degree. That would influence which hearing aid we recommend, as well as the technology and features it’s equipped with. Without this personalised touch, it becomes much harder to solve hearing loss. That’s why evaluations are so important. They help patients move forward faster – and save money in the process.
